Eighteen Years of Innovation: The 2024 Nissan Qashqai Unveiled

  • Published: 30 May 2024

Introducing the Electrified Qashqai

This is a new model in the Qashqai lineup equipped with the latest Nissan e-POWER technology. Additionally, it will experience driving with an electric vehicle using advanced engines. It moves down the production line at Sunderland, and soon, it will access the Nissan retailer markets across Europe and more. It was a further £30 million investment that the plant needed, and hence, total investment in Nissan UK's plant stood at £6 billion.

A Legacy of Innovation and Success

This made the vehicle a game-changer since its launch in 2007. Its success facilitated the Sunderland plant to reach the highest record half-yearly and yearly volumes in UK automotive history. The Qashqai became the fastest car built in the UK to reach 1 million, 2 million, 3 million, and 4 million, prompting over 20 competitors. The same Sunderland plant also makes the Nissan Juke and the 100% electric Nissan LEAF, which supports 7,000 jobs across Nissan's UK teams, which includes the Nissan Design Centre in London and the Nissan Technical Centre in Cranfield. It also supports an additional 30,000 jobs across the supply chain in the UK.

Advanced Technology and Design

The 2024 Qashqai will come with advanced technology, which sets new levels of integrated infotainment in the model, courtesy of the new NissanConnect infotainment with integrated Google services to create a seamless and connected drive, advanced driver-assist systems, and a new centrally mounted 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Price and Availability

Nissan GB has put down their money that the new car will retail from £30,135 in the UK with a choice of a mild hybrid petrol engine or the innovative e-POWER powertrain. This means drivers will be able to experience EV driving without the need to plug in — an ideal stepping-stone for those who are not quite ready to go fully electric. What the Qashqai did not drive away from, however, was Adam Pennick, Nissan VP for Manufacturing in the UK, and his pride in the Sunderland plant. "It is the original crossover—versatile, roomy, and agile. It has continuously evolved for the last fourteen years to satisfy the needs of our customers. With our ground-breaking EV36Zero project, we're getting our plant ready to go all-electric." Diana Torres, Nissan GB Managing Director, said, "The original Qashqai was a trailblazer for crossovers, and in the fifteen years since, it has become an icon of the UK automotive industry. The latest updates will ensure it remains top of the most wanted new-car lists nationwide."

There will continue to be the leader in the crossover segment, and the standards in design, performance, and technology levied by its innovative approach on various counts if the popularity of the Qashqai and all has been kept alive for years.
