Christmas Gifts For Car Fans

Find a gift for every type of car enthusiast this Christmas!

It’s that time of year when we rack our brains for gift ideas and have a word with ourselves for not having made thoughtful lists throughout the year. You may find that there’s someone close to you with a bit of a thing for all things motoring, whether it’s in their own car, or enthusiasm for motorsport. As car fans here at EMG, we’ve got a few ideas up our sleeve when it comes to gifts for car fans - here are some of our top suggestions…

A dash cam

As we know, safety comes first, so we’ll make this the opening entry on the list. Recording your journey can have many benefits, from having something to refer back to if you’re involved in an accident or witness an incident when you’re out and about, to getting a discount on your car insurance.

Plug-in dash cams are simple to install, and it’s not difficult to find a team to help fit the wired-in variety either. By giving a dash cam to the motorist in your life, you’re giving them some peace of mind too.

Cleaning kits

Got a friend that always keeps their motor looking fresh? A car cleaning kit is a gift they can use all year round, full of the products they need to make every part of their car sparkle. Choose from kits that include just the cleaning agents themselves, ones that focus more on the tools and brushes, or some of the bigger sets that mean that there’s a mixture of both.

Clothing and merchandise

If your loved one is a car fan, chances are that they’ve sworn their allegiance to a manufacturer in particular, such as BMW, Porsche or Mercedes. They might even be a Formula 1 fan, which opens you up to a whole world of memorabilia to leave under the tree. Check out hats, hoodies, T-shirts, mugs, cufflinks, keyrings - even socks, the Christmas favourite.

A car bin

You know the person in your life that needs a car bin - the one whose passenger footwell has a few too many water bottles rolling around in it. Car bins are available from many online retailers, and can be fitted to the rear of the passenger headrest, serving as a destination for all that on-the-road junk instead of door pockets, glove boxes, and yes, even the floor!

Model kits

Building mini motors isn’t just for kids you know. If you’re going for the nostalgia factor, we’d definitely suggest some Lego, but there are also some pretty sophisticated model kits out there that will keep the recipient quiet for at least a while on the big day. To make the magic last all year, a subscription to a part-by-part magazine might be something to consider too.

Experiences

Nothing beats the exhilaration of a track or experience day if you’re in love with driving, which is why experience days from companies such as Virgin Experience Days or Buyagift are so popular. There are loads to choose from, including supercar experiences in vehicles such as an Audi R8 or Nissan GTR, off-roading opportunities like quad-biking, and even monster truck driving!

A new car

For that special someone, you may find that no gift is too big - so how about a car? If it’s a set of wheels you’re after, we can help here at EMG, with a range of new and used models that span a range of shapes and sizes, ticking all their boxes on Christmas day. We just can’t guarantee it’ll fit under the tree!
