VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

JOB TITLE: Hyundai, Ford & All Makes Automotive Vehicle Technician

We are an established multi-franchise retailer currently looking for a Vehicle Technician to enhance our aftersales team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-respected retailer and become a key member of our aftersales operation and company. Use your industry experience to complete high quality maintenance, diagnostic and servicing activities in a franchised dealership

It is essential that you have been fully trained and qualified as an Automotive Vehicle Technician to NVQ or City and Guilds Level 3 or above.

Working hours will be as follows:

Monday – Friday 08.15 – 5.45

Saturdays (as per rota) 08:00 – 1.00

The Role

We are seeking a qualified Vehicle Technician to join EMG Motor Group dealership in Spalding and assist in providing a high quality and efficient vehicle service offering for our customers. Working as part of a team and reporting to the Workshop Controller, this role offers you the opportunity to be put your technical expertise to use and solve complex technical issues, whilst gaining new skills and exposure to new vehicle models and methods of working.

Responsibilities

· Complete scheduled vehicle servicing in line with manufacturer guidelines

· Undertake diagnostic activities to identify causes and solutions for customer vehicle issues

· Conduct electronic visual health checks (EVHC) on all vehicles and provide a comprehensive report with expert advice and recommendations for customers

· Liaise directly with customers and service advisors, providing outstanding customer service

· Ensure vehicle servicing activities are completed in a safe and high quality manner, in line with both internal and manufacturer requirements

· Participate in ongoing training and development to ensure product and service knowledge is up to date

· Contribute to local and companywide process improvements and innovations

· Mentor and provide guidance to apprentice technicians, where applicable

Required Skills and Experience

You will ideally be a Level 3 qualified vehicle technician. You will hold a full UK driving licence and ideally have manufacturer experience. In addition to your prior experience, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

· Excellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detail

· A strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

· Outstanding organisation and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines

Salary: £23k-£30k depending on experienceJob Description

It is essential that you have been fully trained and qualified as an Automotive Vehicle Technician to NVQ or City and Guilds Level 3 or above.

As a Technician, your main role is to develop and maintain levels of training in vehicle mechanics and electronics in order to effectively service and repair vehicles.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

  • To use technical knowledge and skills to effectively service/repair customers’ vehicles, carrying out checks and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
  • To accurately record all chargeable labour, components and consumables on the job card, working where possible to achieve manufacturer’s servicing and repair times
  • To advise the Service Receptionists about required repairs, providing the necessary information and time estimates
  • To ensure the correct labelling of warranty removed parts to enable efficient processing
  • To control the use of materials, tools and consumables to minimise wastage
  • Maintaining service and repair records

Being an MOT Tester would be an advantage, however, you must be skilled to a level to produce and maintain the highest level of quality standards.

Previous motor trade experience as a Technician is essential, preferably franchise experience.

You must be a resident in the UK at the time of this advertisement and hold necessary paperwork. You will also hold a full valid driving licence with no motoring endorsements.

Full time: MON – FRI 8.00 TILL 17.30 and Alternative SATS 8.00 – 12.30
