Grainger Motor Group wins 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Kia Dealer Excellence awards!
Attended by more than 1,000 Kia dealer staff and employees, the conference opened with a new mantra for the coming year: ‘Take the Lead’. This phrase encapsulates what Kia and its dealerships have already achieved, as well as what they must continue to do to embrace the opportunities 2025 brings and meet the UK’s wider transition towards electric vehicles.
Taking the lead, both EMG Kia Cambridge and EMG Kia Thetford were a star of the show, winning not only second and third place and a ‘Dealer Excellence Award’ trophy each, but both were also awarded three Highly Commended certificates across three of the four awards categories. Both dealerships received Highly Commended for ‘Sales Excellence’, ‘Customer Experience’, and ‘EV Excellence’.
The annual Kia Dealer Excellence Awards celebrate performance across the extensive network of 190 UK Kia dealerships. Award recipients earned praise for their extraordinary dedication across their businesses in the past 12 months, with the prestigious ‘Dealer of the Year’ Award going to the top dealership, with second and third place each receiving a ‘Dealer Excellence Award’ trophy. New this year is the ‘EV Excellence Award’ to better reflect the market’s adoption of electric vehicles, alongside the ‘Sales Excellence Award’, ‘After Sales Excellence Award’ and ‘Customer Experience Award’. For each category, there is one winner and a further nine Highly Commended dealerships.
Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia UK, commented: “The teams at EMG Kia Cambridge and EMG Kia Thetford have outdone themselves. Coming second and third place overall is no small feat with 190 dealerships across the UK, and to earn Highly Commended across three of our four awards categories is testament to the skill, dedication and expertise the entire team applies to every element of their business. This all helps to build real and trusting relationships with customers, particularly those looking to go electric. Our congratulations go to the entire team for a thoroughly well-deserved awards haul.”

Another record sales year
Across the whole Kia UK dealer network, 2024 was a bumper year of records, with a new full year sales record of 112,252 new cars sold. Of these, 50% were electrified (EV, HEV, PHEV) models making Kia the second best-selling brand for electrified models across the year.
The Kia Sportage once again proved to be Kia’s most popular model. The family SUV made up around 42% of Kia’s total sales, thanks to its enduring appeal and range of efficient and electrified powertrains.
Adding to Kia’s growing list of fully electric models, 2024 saw the launch of the EV3 – an all-electric compact SUV offering up to 375 miles1 of range per charge with the largest battery option. In addition, the popular and pioneering EV6 was refreshed, while new versions of Picanto and Sorento were also launched.
Notes to Editor
1 In order to achieve the maximum charging speed, EV3 must be charged at a 400-volt electric vehicle charger that delivers at least 150kW of electricity.
