Making its debut as recently as 2017, the Kia Stinger is the newest addition to the South Korean marque’s car range. This exciting sports saloon comes extremely well-equipped, provides a comfortable ride, and delivers plenty of pace and power.
The Stinger is essentially a four-door coupé, one that fuses eye-catching good looks and family-car practicality. The vehicle rides on dazzling 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, which are sufficiently lightweight in order to deliver optimal efficiency. Other useful features include power-operated and heated door mirrors, which are light-sensitive and fitted with integrated indicator lights. Each is contained within a chrome-coloured shell that provides a fetching contrast to the car’s glossy paint finish. Inside, there’s plenty of legroom for up to five people. Front-seat travellers are provided with eight-way power-adjustable positions, while a rake-and-reach-adjustable steering wheel ensures that the driver is always able to quickly get comfortable.
A 2.0-litre 244bhp petrol engine is fitted as standard, delivering 353Nm of torque and 0-60mph in approximately 5.6 seconds. For maximum fuel efficiency, choose a Stinger variant that is installed with a 2.2-litre 197bhp diesel unit, which returns up to 50.4mpg and produces a 154g/km CO2 emission figure. Models that feature a 3.3-litre 365bhp petrol engine deliver a peak torque of 510Nm and the ability to travel from 0-60mph in roughly 4.5 seconds.
To temper its prodigious performance capabilities, the Kia Stinger comes with a maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. This is in recognition of the vehicle’s suite of driving aids and passive protective features. These include Automatic Emergency Braking, which monitors the activity of vehicles ahead and alerts the driver to the likelihood of collision, while autonomously applying maximum braking pressure.
All models feature an eight-inch touchscreen navigation system that provides real-time traffic updates, helping you to get to your destination in a timely fashion. For your listening pleasure, a nine-speaker audio system is included, incorporating a touchscreen display and DAB radio, among other things. Bluetooth connectivity is featured as standard, too, enabling music streaming and hands-free telephony.
