The all-electric version of the Niro first rolled off the production line in 2018, and was met with widespread acclaim. The e-Niro, with its SUV good looks, spacious interior and ultra-low running costs is as good an electric car as one could hope for.
The smoothly muscular e-Niro’s five-door body ensures that access to the rear passenger compartment is always straightforward. Inside, the driver is treated to a power-operated, eight-way-adjustable seat and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, ensuring that getting comfortable is never a problem. The driver also benefits from an elevated position, which affords a good view of the road ahead. In fact, the vehicle’s expansive side and rear windows ensure that there is good all-round visibility. The e-Niro also scores well in terms of passenger space, with room for three full-size adults in the rear compartment. Moreover, the car’s 451-litre boot space is greater than that offered by the hybrid Niro, and can be expanded further with rear seats folded.
After a full charge, the e-Niro is capable of an impressive 282-mile range. This means that one complete charge per week should serve the majority of drivers well. When connected to a fast-charging unit, the car’s battery status climbs from zero to 80 percent in less than one hour. Thanks to its 201bhp electric motor, the car is able to go from 0-60mph in approximately 7.3 seconds – while producing no CO2 emissions whatsoever.
