2020 Red Dot Design Award
The Mazda MX-30’s first award came in the 2020 Red Dot Design Awards, one of the world’s largest international design competitions. Winning in the ‘Electric Vehicle’ category, the Red Dot jury was won over by Mazda’s ‘Human Modern’ interpretation of its established Kodo design philosophy.
2021 DrivingElectric.com Awards
Specialist electric and hybrid vehicle review site DrivingElectric.com awarded the MX-30 the title of ‘Favourite Electric Car’, a category based on the votes of the site’s readers. It was a clear winner in the poll, indicating that Mazda’s focus on stylish design, rewarding driving experience and sustainability resonates with buyers contemplating a move to an all-electric vehicle.
2020-2021 Car of the Year Japan Awards
A large panel of judges selected the MX-30 as the recipient of the Design Car of the Year accolade in the 2020-2021 Car of the Year Japan Awards. Delighted to receive this award in a domestic competition, Mazda’s Ikuo Maeda, Managing Executive Officer in charge of Design and Brand Style said: “It’s truly an honour to have the MX-30 receive this award as a token of high esteem for its design. I am truly grateful for all of those who have shown their support toward this model.”
2021 DieselCar and EcoCar Magazine Awards
The MX-30’s most recent award came in June 2021, winning the Best Electric Compact SUV title in DieselCar and EcoCar Magazine’s annual awards. Editor Ian Robertson said: “We’re big fans of the MX-30’s neat design, which pays tribute to the RX-8 sports car with its freestyle doors.” Mazda’s “eco-conscious” approach to its design and build was also noted by the magazine.
